THEOLOGICAL DISTINCTIVES

it is finished

While the evangelistic ministries of Mission Impact Alliance have a parachurch emphasis, those interested in being on the leadership team of any future church plants should be in unity on the following theological distinctives:

CORE:
The core tenets of the faith which are non-negotiable for anyone to even call themselves a Christian.

The Trinity
God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit eternally and simultaneously exist as three persons in one essence, equal in attributes and power, unique in they individual roles. http://www.gty.org/resources/articles/A215/our-triune-god

Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ was uncreated, has eternally existed and was co-creator before His incarnation. He is fully God, perfect in every way and fully man, tempted in every way, yet without sin. http://www.gty.org/resources/articles/A215/our-triune-god

The Death and Resurrection of Christ
We believe that Jesus died and was resurrected on the third day and apart from the resurrection our faith is meaningless. http://www.reformation21.org/blog/2016/03/did-the-second-person-of-the-t.php http://www.gotquestions.org/resurrection-Christ-important.html

The sufficiency, inherency, infallibility, and divine inspiration of Scripture
The canon of Scripture is complete in it’s communication from God to man regarding all things it teaches. http://www.bible-researcher.com/chicago1.html

The Doctrines of Grace
We adhere to the doctrines of the total inability of man, unconditional election, irresistible grace, and perseverance and assurance of the saints with an open handedness to the various and controversial views of limited atonement. https://www.monergism.com/topics/doctrines-grace

Justification by Faith Alone
We believe the doctrine of justification by faith alone to be a crucial pillar of the true Gospel and antithetical to the teachings of Catholicism and the Orthodox Church. https://carm.org/roman-catholic-view-justification

Penal Substitutionary Atonement
We believe Jesus died in our place becoming sin that we might become the righteousness of God. This belief separates us from the Eastern Orthodox view of atonement. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Substitutionary_atonement

Grace, the Gospel and Regeneration
We believe that grace is all of life and in the importance of clear Gospel teaching and proclamation both for the regeneration and sanctification of the believer. Grace and the Gospel taught and applied rightly help us to grow in God. https://www.monergism.com/thethreshold/articles/onsite/regeneration_grudem.html

The Beauty of Christ and Sanctification
Beholding the beauty of the glory of God in Christ and resting in the finished work of Christ are the primary means by which we are sanctified. http://www.desiringgod.org/messages/beholding-glory-and-becoming-whole-seeing-and-savoring-god-as-the-heart-of-mental-health
